Behind Film Scores Explored
Hey there,
I’m Robert.
You know that feeling when a score makes a character, a place, or a moment stay with you? Film Scores Explored is a place to work through what the music is doing—and why it matters.
I’m a composer and educator. Through videos, writing, and teaching, I explore how musical choices support a story and how you can bring that understanding into your own composing.

For listeners and composers
Hear what makes
a story stay with you.
You don’t need to write music to enjoy a closer look at a score. My YouTube analyses connect the musical details to the characters, emotion, and narrative around them.
If you do compose, those same details can become questions to explore at your keyboard. What does this character need? What changes in the scene? What can your theme say that the dialogue doesn’t?
Alongside Film Scores Explored, I tutor composers through the ThinkSpace Education Orchestral Composition Bootcamp. My work here grows out of teaching, analysis, and an ongoing interest in musical storytelling.
