Introduction and scope

These terms describe services provided by Robert Rodriguez, doing business as Robert Rodriguez Music, including the Film Scores Explored brand. In these terms, ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ mean Robert Rodriguez. Questions about products, access or these terms can be sent to hello@robertrodriguezmusic.com.

These terms govern your use of our websites, content, resources and related products and services, whether provided free of charge or for payment (collectively, the Services). Content and resources supplied through the Services are referred to as Materials. Additional offer-specific terms may apply and will be identified before you agree to an offer. Earlier purchases remain subject to the access and delivery commitments agreed when purchased.

Eligibility and acceptance

Read the applicable product description, price, delivery information, refund policy and access period before purchasing. Product-specific terms displayed and accepted at checkout supplement these terms and control where they specifically address the purchased offer. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.

Purchases and subscription agreements must be made by an adult who can enter a binding agreement. People aged 16 or 17 may participate with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who must agree to the applicable purchase terms. Any stricter eligibility requirement of a service provider also applies. Children under 13 must not submit personal information through our websites or forms. Keep account credentials private and follow the applicable account-use rules.

The applicable purchase and subscription terms are provided before an order is placed. Recurring charges and any legally required digital-delivery acknowledgement require the consent specified at checkout.

Purchases and payments

The price and currency for each offer are shown on its sales page and checkout. Applicable taxes or other disclosed charges are shown during checkout. A one-time purchase is not an automatically renewing subscription. A payment plan for a fixed purchase is different from a membership that renews until cancelled.

Orders, payments and account access may be handled through external service providers identified when you use the relevant service. You must provide accurate billing information and authorize the stated charge. Those providers’ terms apply to their services.

An order may be declined or suspended for suspected fraud, failed payment, prohibited use or an obvious listing error. If an accepted paid order cannot be fulfilled, we will contact you and provide the remedy required by the purchase agreement and applicable law. We will not use a pricing correction to impose an undisclosed charge.

Delivery and access

Materials are supplied using the delivery method described before purchase or registration. Delivery may involve a download, access link, hosted account or permission to copy Materials into an eligible workspace. Required third-party accounts, software and compatibility requirements are identified in the applicable offer.

Save a copy of purchased downloadable materials and retain your receipt. Contact us if the advertised delivery fails. We may verify your order before providing a replacement link. Replacement links, ongoing hosting and future updates are not an indefinite service commitment unless the offer expressly includes them.

Hosted access lasts for the period stated in the applicable offer. A limited access period or availability condition must be disclosed before purchase and cannot be added retroactively to override an earlier commitment. Continued hosting and future updates are included only where expressly promised.

Intellectual property and permitted use

We or our licensors retain the intellectual property rights in the Materials, websites and associated branding. Access to the Services does not transfer ownership of those rights.

Unless the applicable offer states otherwise, a person who lawfully receives Materials, whether free or paid, receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access, download or copy them as supplied for personal learning and individual professional use. You may apply the ideas in your own work, make reasonable personal backup or printed copies, and adapt your own copy where its format permits. This licence does not transfer ownership of your original work to us.

You may not resell, sublicense, publicly distribute, share access credentials or restricted access links, upload Materials to a public repository, or present them as your own product. Use by a team, institution or other users requires a separate licence unless expressly included in the offer. Rights provided by applicable copyright law remain unaffected.

Discontinuation of a hosted service does not, by itself, cancel a compliant licence to copies of Materials you already lawfully received. A licence may be terminated for a material breach, subject to applicable law and any required notice. The end of hosted access and termination of a licence are separate matters.

For uses outside this licence, request written permission from support before using the Materials or our branding. Permission covers only the uses expressly agreed. We reserve the right to seek remedies available under applicable law for infringement or unauthorized use.

Refunds and statutory rights

Paid digital Materials, once delivered, are final sale, except where a refund or another remedy is required by law or expressly offered. Review the applicable refund policy before purchasing. Any guarantee we expressly offer will identify its scope, deadline and claim process.

If there is a duplicate charge, a delivery failure or a material difference between what was promised and what was supplied, contact us with your receipt and a description of the problem. We will review the issue and provide the remedy required by the order terms and applicable law. A final-sale statement does not remove mandatory statutory rights.

Where local law requires an express request or acknowledgement before immediate digital delivery changes a withdrawal right, that consent must be obtained at checkout. These terms alone do not obtain it. Nothing here prevents you from raising a legitimate payment dispute or exercising rights with your payment provider.

Subscriptions and cancellation

We will identify the recurring price, billing interval, any trial or introductory period, access period and cancellation method before you agree to a membership. Recurring charges require your affirmative consent. We will provide the purchase acknowledgement and any renewal or change notices required by applicable law.

You can cancel a renewing membership using the cancellation method provided in your account or by contacting support if you cannot use that method. Cancellation must not require unreasonable advance notice or obstructive steps. Unless the offer or applicable law states otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals and access continues through the paid period.

Payments already made are subject to the applicable refund policy and mandatory rights. Membership cancellation does not erase earlier one-time purchases. A fixed payment plan remains governed by its original payment agreement and must not be presented as an ordinary cancel-anytime subscription.

A newsletter unsubscribe stops marketing emails. It does not cancel a paid membership or request deletion of your customer account. Use the membership cancellation process for that purpose.

Service changes and discontinuation

We may stop new sales, discontinue a free resource, retire an offer, change hosting platforms or close the business. We will handle outstanding obligations according to the terms agreed at purchase and applicable law. A later policy change does not erase an earlier access promise.

For a planned closure affecting paid hosted access, we will give reasonable advance notice when practicable, explain when access ends, stop future subscription billing and describe available downloads, replacement access or other applicable remedies. Any prepaid service that cannot be supplied will be handled as required by the agreement and law. Illness, emergencies or platform failures may make advance notice impracticable; we will communicate as soon as reasonably possible.

You remain responsible for keeping your own copies of downloadable Materials and exported personal work. Hosted links, accounts and services may become unavailable after hosting ends. The licence to a properly obtained copy remains separate from hosted access, as explained above.

Accounts and acceptable use

Keep your account information accurate and your credentials private. Do not share a paid login, attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with the website, distribute malware, impersonate another person or use the services for fraud or unlawful activity. Notify support if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

We may investigate or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a security issue, unpaid charge or violation. Where practicable, we will explain the issue and give an opportunity to correct it; immediate action may be needed for serious abuse or security risk. Suspension and refund decisions remain subject to applicable law.

Participation and support

Participation includes only the activities, content, feedback and support expressly described in the applicable offer. It does not include unlimited private support, guaranteed review of every submission, guaranteed introductions, job placement or a particular creative or financial result.

Treat other participants respectfully. Do not harass, discriminate, threaten, spam, disclose another member’s private information, share confidential client material without permission or submit work you are not entitled to share. Additional clearly communicated community rules may apply.

Keep other participants’ non-public contributions and private information within the intended audience. Do not copy, publish or share private posts, messages, recordings or other restricted contributions outside that audience without appropriate permission, except where disclosure is required or protected by law. This obligation continues after your access ends. It does not prevent you from using your own original work or information that is lawfully public.

We may moderate content and restrict participation to protect members and enforce the rules. We do not guarantee that every submission will be reviewed or that other participants will keep shared information confidential. Share only what you are comfortable disclosing to the people who can access the relevant space. A participant’s contribution is their own; its presence in a discussion does not mean we endorse it or verify its accuracy.

User content and recorded sessions

You retain ownership of your original music and other work you submit through the Services (User Content). You give us limited, non-exclusive permission to host, display and process User Content as needed to provide the Services and make it available to the intended participants. This does not give us a general right to sell your work or use it in advertising.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content and information about others. Do not submit confidential or third-party material without appropriate permission. Access to educational discussion or Materials does not grant you rights in third-party works.

Live community sessions are recorded and replays are available to eligible members under the applicable offer. Hosted replay access ends when the paid membership period ends, including the remaining paid time after cancellation. Earlier access commitments, separately purchased rights and mandatory legal rights remain protected. Recordings may include participants’ voices, images, screens, comments and shared work. We will explain recording and the replay audience before a session and obtain any permission required. Participants must not record or redistribute another participant’s contribution without appropriate permission.

We maintain a curated replay library for ongoing education, review it at least annually and remove recordings that no longer have a justified use, subject to applicable rights and legal obligations. Access to the library does not promise that every recording will remain available permanently.

Identifiable User Content may be used in promotion only with separately documented permission covering the content, purposes, channels, recipients and applicable withdrawal arrangements. This may cover agreed excerpts, posts, comments and testimonials on our websites, in emails, on social media and in advertising. Sharing an agreed full session, edited replay or selected contributions with prospective members requires separate preview permission covering that audience. Marketing and preview permissions are optional; declining either does not affect membership or eligible-member replay access. General participation, recording permission and agreement to these terms do not themselves grant unrestricted promotional rights.

Before promotional or preview use, we must verify permission for every identifiable contribution included. Member compositions, performances, recordings, scores and project files are excluded from these permissions and require a separate, specific licence before such use. Private messages, sensitive information, confidential material and contributions without the required permission must be excluded. Editing must not materially misrepresent a contribution.

For participants aged 16–17, any required parent or guardian permission must be obtained before recording or promotional use. Permissions apply only to the content, uses and audiences they cover and do not retroactively expand rights to earlier User Content.

Third-party services and educational information

Our work provides education and creative analysis. It does not guarantee commissions, employment, sales, a particular level of composing skill or another outcome. Examples illustrate an approach; individual results depend on many factors.

External platforms, payment processors and other service providers have their own terms, availability and technical limitations. We do not control their services or provide their technical support unless the applicable offer expressly includes it. Required software, accounts and costs are described where relevant.

Links to external websites and services are provided for your convenience. We do not control those sites. Any affiliate relationship or sponsorship will be disclosed where applicable; a link alone does not mean a paid endorsement.

Availability and liability

We aim to deliver what the offer describes, but websites and third-party platforms may experience maintenance, outages or compatibility changes. Keep backups of your own projects and downloaded materials. Report a delivery or access problem so we can investigate.

To the extent permitted by law, materials are provided without additional implied guarantees beyond the express purchase commitments and any mandatory rights. We do not accept liability for indirect losses such as lost anticipated profits caused by your use of educational material. Any limitation must not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable statutory obligations, fraud or other legally protected claims.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for claims arising from a particular paid purchase or subscription is limited to the total amount you paid us for that purchase or subscription. This limitation does not apply to fraud, intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Applicable consumer rights, required refunds and other mandatory remedies remain unaffected. No monetary cap under this paragraph applies solely because you received a free resource.

If an event outside our reasonable control prevents delivery, we will explain the interruption and consider rescheduling, replacement performance or other remedies required by the purchase agreement and law. Such an event does not automatically authorize keeping payment for services that are never supplied.

Responsibility for third-party claims

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to reimburse us for reasonable, documented losses and legal costs arising from a third-party claim, but only to the extent caused by your intentional unlawful conduct, knowing infringement of another person’s intellectual property rights, or unlawful disclosure of another person’s confidential information through the Services. This obligation applies only to liability established by a final court judgment or a settlement you approve. We will promptly notify you of a covered claim and give you a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defence. This paragraph does not require you to advance defence costs, does not apply to claims between you and us, and does not cover losses caused by our negligence, wrongdoing or breach of these terms. It does not restrict any right or defence available under mandatory law.

Privacy and rights complaints

Our Privacy Policy describes the information processed through the website, newsletter, purchases and community. Account creation is not blanket permission for every future marketing use.

If you believe material on our services infringes your rights, contact support with the work concerned, the exact location, your contact details and an explanation of the claim. We will review the report and use the relevant platform process where appropriate.

Governing law and general provisions

You may contact support so we can try to resolve a concern. These terms are governed by New York law, except where the mandatory laws of your location require otherwise. They do not remove any right to use a consumer protection authority, a lawful payment dispute or a court that applicable law permits you to use. Each party is responsible for its own legal fees and expenses in a dispute between us, except where applicable law or a court order provides otherwise. The separate provision about third-party claims applies only to the claims it expressly covers.

A provision that is unenforceable will apply only to the extent permitted, and the remaining terms continue where legally appropriate. Failure to enforce a term on one occasion does not waive it for future cases. Product-specific commitments and applicable consumer rights remain part of the agreement.

Changes to these terms will be dated and communicated as required. Changes apply prospectively and do not silently replace prior purchase commitments. Material subscription changes require appropriate notice and any consent required by law.

Subject to applicable law, provisions concerning intellectual property, restrictions on sharing Materials and private User Content, amounts already lawfully due, and dispute resolution continue after access ends to the extent needed to give them effect. Cancellation does not create new renewal charges.
