The other day, I was watching a YouTube video by Ali Abdaal and very briefly, he mentioned something called the Law of Equal and Opposite Advice.
It was so quick and in passing but it definitely caught my attention!
It's the idea that one piece of advice could be the key to success for one person... but still be the wrong advice for another!
I love this because it follows the idea that there's no one set path for us as composers!
๐ Living in LA vs working remotely
๐ฒ Sending cold DMs and emails for higher chances of work vs relying on content creation for networking
Sometimes we follow advice because someone swears by it.
But what if the exact opposite applied to us instead?
That's why understanding your strengths and how you actually prefer to work is crucial for a successful and fulfilling career!
If you're unsure of your own strengths, I suggest taking my Composer Odyssey Index personality assessment!
It's meant to get you feeling a bit more aligned in your career and help you understand what does or doesn't work for you!
By the way, this is the video I was watching! Remember, the Law of Equal and Opposite Advice was only mentioned briefly but the video as a whole is still worth the watch!
