🏆 Are You Entering These Competitions?!

These scoring competition prizes are pretty HUGE! So my question is... are you gonna participate?!

Robert Rodriguez ·

Yesterday Spitfire Audio announced their 3rd annual scoring competition and the winner could get over $20,000 worth of sample libraries!

For this years competition, we're given a scene to score from the Netflix Original Series: Bridgerton and it's judged by the Emmy-Award winning composer Kris Bowers!

This year, the winner will get the Spitfire Audio Everything Collection, a signed manuscript of the Bridgerton theme, and a virtual mentoring session with Kris Bowers himself. Then the 4 runners up will also get that signed manuscript along with the Symphony Complete Professional collection which totals over $4,000!

Did you know that there's actually ANOTHER competition going one right now as well?!

ThinkSpace Education is hosting the Jason Graves Scoring competition from now until the 12th of August! The winner of this contest will get a selection of TSE short courses and their music mixed by Cinematic Mixing!

These prizes are pretty huge! So my question is... are you gonna participate?

Here's the thing: obviously if you win, you could get some amazing once in a lifetime prizes! But also the chance of you being that winner is unfortunately kind of low, right? 😭

If that's the case, is it worth entering in the first place?...

ABSOLUTELY!

For one, why waste your chance at the mere possibility of winning even just ONE of these prizes?!

Then even if you don't win, you'd be getting the opportunity to:

  • Practice scoring to picture

  • Practice scoring to a brief

If you're new to this, you'd get experience figuring out a workflow that suits you best! And if you're already an established writer, you have yet another chance to add something NEW, or REFINED, or FRESH to your demo reel.

So if you can go into these contests without the expectation of winning and just write for the love of film music; write because you know you want to get in that extra bit of practice...then you'll slowly develop your skills and mental clarity as a composer!
