Perfection is a Myth!
There I said it...
Don't try to be perfect; don't try and make perfect music; don't try to be a perfect composer- because honestly, you'll never get there...and THAT'S OKAY!
Instead, what if we simply appreciated the small things that are seemingly imperfect and then proudly showed them off?? Wouldn't that take a huge weight off our shoulders of trying to catch this all encompassing "mythical perfection"? We could fall in love with and embrace the tiny imperfections in our music!
But SURE we all know that, right? That's not news! But I'm curious... how many of us really live by this?
We know we can't be perfect and yet we still try to be in our music, we forever tweak samples, we try to craft the perfect post on social media to market ourselves as musicians, we write and rewrite...and rewrite again!
At what point do we stop the chase for perfection and just learn from doing; learn from experience?
And now, you might be wondering what this all has to do with a piano, huh?
Well, Teletone Audio's Postcard Piano has fully embraced it's imperfections and it makes for one AMAZING piano library!
Each piano sample in this library has been time-stretched and pitch shifted to create this moody and IMPERFECT sound that I've fallen in love with! It's NOT your average piano! You can hear all the little sounds, clicks, bumps, and noise that come with recording a piano...because they chose to leave them in library!
And in a weird way, that's what gives this piano a sense of realism.
I'm so excited that Teletone Audio reached out and provided a copy of this piano so I can discuss it with you all! No, I'm not affiliated with them so I don't make commission or anything, I just really love the sound of this imperfect piano.
